Tuesdays with Anne
A service that creates life story interviews, oral histories & legacy keepsakes.
Tuesdays with Anne is a life story service.
We sit with people - those nearing the end of life, or simply those with a life worth telling - and we ask the questions that matter.
Then we shape what we hear into something lasting, capturing their words into written interviews and recordings.
The outcome is life story interviews, oral histories, and legacy keepsakes.
What we do
1. Interview you
We hold one to three recorded interviews, each between 30-60 minutes. We can cover a wide range of topics - from childhood, work, love, loss, faith, memories, regrets, wisdom, and everything in between. Conducted with care, at whatever pace feels right.
2. Craft, edit, and finalise your story
Everything is then transcribed, shaped, and written into a warm, readable narrative. And if you opt to have a recording, too, we edit the recording of the conversation.
3. Produce the keepsake
We can produce the story as a digital text file, or as a beautifully printed and bound book - something to hold, pass around, and pass down through generations. We can also provide the interview as a digital recording you can keep.
Mission
Tuesdays with Anne is built on the belief that our lives are worth capturing not just in photographs and dates – but in voice and words.
And Tuesdays with Anne exists because my mother, Anne, died when I was 16. That’s her in the photo. I don't remember what her voice sounds like, and I know so little about her beyond the basic facts. It's now over 20 years later, and I still wish I'd had one afternoon with my mum to write things down. Or just a recording of her voice.
Being able to know the people we love while we're still here is a special privilege. Not everybody gets that chance.
Because one day, your parent will die, and you'll be at home on a quiet afternoon years later, and you'll have forgotten what their voice sounds like, or the details of that story about when they first fell in love. And one day, you will die, and your children in 20 years' time will wonder about what it was like to teach them how to rider a bike.
Our name also comes from the idea that life happens on a Tuesday - in the ordinary moments, not just the milestone ones. The quiet weekday afternoons where real life actually lives.
Because life happens on a Tuesday. Don't wait for a reason to capture it.
Who is this service for?
Tuesdays with Anne is for anyone with a story worth keeping. That includes:
Those nearing the end of life – Individuals in palliative care or with life-limiting conditions, and the families walking alongside them. For when time feels precious and the urge to leave something behind feels impossible to ignore.
Older adults – You don't need a diagnosis to deserve a record. For anyone who wants their story heard, shaped, and saved, before memory fades or the moment passes.
Families and loved ones – For families who want to preserve a loved one's voice, their humour, their way of seeing the world. Not just their dates and facts.
New and early parents – The sleepless nights, the first words, the way you felt the moment everything changed. For parents who want to document these early years not just in photographs but in words — so that one day their children can know exactly what it felt like to be loved by them from the very start.
Communities and oral history projects – Neighbourhoods, cultural groups, faith communities, and organisations who want to record the voices and lived experiences that shaped them. Stories that belong to many, not just one family.

Then if you’d like to go ahead, we book in interview sessions. These can fit are your time and comfort.
After the session, we draft and edit the text. If you’ve requested an audio version, we also edit the recording.
We then share the final keepsake as a digital file, or as a printed keepsake, whichever you decide.
The whole process takes between 2 to 4 weeks in total.

Yes. Whoever is telling their story gets to decide what information is shared with the interviewer.
We will provide a list of subjects and questions ahead of time, for the subject to consider.
And if at a later stage you want to add or remove a part of what you’ve shared, we can edit the text or recording accordingly.
-
An edited and finalised written text document, or a digital recording – or both.
The written document will be up to 2,000 words. We can produce it in a printed and bounded book, or as a digital file.
The recording will be produced as a digital file only.

No - we will never use artificial intelligence to conduct or write a life story. Not because we can't - but because the person telling their story deserves better than that.
AI cannot sit quietly while someone finds the words. It cannot notice the way a person's face changes when they talk about their mother. It cannot know when to ask the next question and when to simply wait.
Tuesdays with Anne is built entirely on human presence. Every interview is conducted in person, by a real person, listening properly. Every word is written by a person - shaped, considered, and crafted the way a life deserves to be.
